Montana Tech's Department of Geological Engineering offers a bachelor's degree, three master's degrees (each with at least several options), graduate and undergraduate drone certificates, and Ph.D. in Earth Science and Engineering. Our campus is home to the Montana Bureau of Mines and Geology. Programs allow students to specialize the areas of geotechnical, geophysics, hydrogeology, mining, or petroleum.

Programs
Geological Engineering, B.S.

Specialize in geotechnical, geophysics, hydrogeology, mining, or petroleum.

Hydrogeology Minor

Students in other majors can specialize in groundwater in a minor program that will give you knowledge and experience modeling one of the earth's limited resources.

UAS (Drone) Certificates

Become a licensed drone pilot and learn how to model and interpret data collected in flight.

Geoscience, M.S.

The Geoscience, M.S. allows you to focus on geochemistry, geology, geophysics, and/or hydrogeology. One of our unique specializations is economic geology

Earth Science and Engineering Ph.D.

The Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Earth Science and Engineering (ESE), integrates engineering and science and focuses on applications.
