The Sherry Lesar School of Nursing at Montana Tech is the #1 nursing program in Montana, according to the 2024 Top Ranked Nursing Schools listing by RegisteredNursing.org, and the 2024 Best Nursing School in Montana by RNcareers.org.
Undergraduate students may pursue a bachelor's of science degree in nursing and a minor in health care informatics. The Sherry Lesar School of Nursing continues to sustain NCLEX-RN pass rates between 90-100%, well above the State and National averages.
Montana Tech's Sherry Lesar School of Nursing and the Montana Tech Athletic Department are committed to supporting student-athletes. Our partnership allows nursing students to continue their athletic careers even during rigorous upper-division coursework and clinical rotations. A dedicated nursing advisor works closely with student-athletes and coaches to proactively help balance their rigorous academic and athletic commitments.
After successful completion of the requirements for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program, students must pass the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN) before entering the workforce as an RN. Montana Tech has determined that the Nursing program meets the educational requirements necessary for the student to seek licensure/certification in the state of Montana. Montana Tech is one of only two publicly funded nursing programs in Montana to offer a pre-licensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
This 18-credit minor focuses on health care ethics, delivery, systems, medical recordkeeping, and data integration and exchange.
Montana Technological University has partnered with Mantra Health, a telemental health provider, to offer virtual mental healthcare options for students during daytime, evening, and weekend hours.
