Montana Tech opens the 2018 season with the annual Copper Game presented by Rocky Mountain Credit Union on Saturday September 8th. The home opener will again take place under the lights with the kickoff starting at 7:00 p.m.
The Orediggers open the home campaign against Eastern Oregon. The 2018 evening home opener is the second straight year for a night game on the first home game of the year. Montana Tech has hosted night games for the home opener just a handful of time in the past decade including 2017, 2014 and 2010.
Montana Tech enters the 2018 season with a 15-2 record at home the last three seasons. The Orediggers have won the last four home openers at Alumni Coliseum and are 5-2 under head coach Chuck Morrell. The 2018 campaign is the eighth season for coach Morrell.
The Copper Game will feature copper jerseys for the Orediggers. Fans are encouraged to wear copper and commemorative copper shirts will be available closer to the start of the season.
