Apply science. Mitigate risks. Protect people.

Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) utilizes applied science-based techniques to oversee programs designed to enhance worker and public health and safety. If you enjoy a science-based curriculum while having the ability to interact and influence people on a daily basis, the rewarding field of Occupational Safety and Health may be a good fit for you.

Leaders in a broad range of industries from health care to petroleum seek out Montana Tech graduates. The OSH degree curriculum is structured to prepare you for a rewarding career immediately upon graduation. You will gain hands-on experience through laboratory exercises and internship opportunities. Along with nearly 100% placement of our graduates, the quality of the OSH degree program is recognized by national organizations such as the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health through a Training Project Grant and the Applied and Natural Science Accreditation Commission of ABET. You can also earn a master’s degree in Industrial Hygiene in one additional year through our Accelerated Master’s program.

I came for a visit and fell in love with campus. I also fell in love with occupational health and safety. It checked all my boxes: being able to work with people, being able to problem solve, having a science aspect. I learned you could work anywhere and in any field.
