Admissions Procedures

Undergraduate Admitted Students

All new students are required to live in the residence halls their first year at Montana Tech. Living on campus will help you become more connected and engaged with the campus community and improve your academic experience. There are two halls available with a variety of room options to choose from. Housing is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. If you would like to request a specific hall or a single room, apply early. Applications received before April 1st will receive priority consideration.

For complete details on each residence hall, housing costs, meal plan options, and how to apply, visit the Residence Life pages.

Class registration for new incoming students opens in May for the Fall/Summer semesters or November for the Spring semester and remains open until the Friday before classes begin. Follow the steps below to complete the registration process.

  1. REVIEW YOUR ADMISSION FILE
To register for classes, we must have official test scores and MMR Immunization on file in Enrollment Services. If either of these items are missing from your admission file, you are not yet eligible to register for classes. Review your admission checklist on your personalized Montana Tech website and submit any remaining items as soon as you are able.
  2. CHOOSE YOUR REGISTRATION OPTION
    1. Admitted Student Day

We will be hosting two Admitted Student events for students enrolling in the fall semester. This will give you the opportunity to come and experience campus before classes start in August. Whether you're looking to become more familiar with the campus, meet your advisor, get to know some of your fellow classmates, or just get registered for your classes, this is the perfect time to do so!

Events will be held on Friday, April 27 and Friday, June 15. Whichever event you choose is guaranteed to be both fun and informative!

For complete details and to RSVP, visit the Admitted Student Day page on your personalized Montana Tech website.

    2. Registration Appointment
For Spring/Summer enrollments, and for those who cannot attend an admitted student event, you may contact your Department Representative via email to schedule a registration appointment. This appointment can take place on campus or over the phone/through email.

As an admitted student, you now have access to Montana Tech’s campus portal, MyMTech. Through MyMTech you can access:

  • Moodle

Moodle is Montana Tech’s web-based learning environment and course management tool. It is designed to enhance both teaching and learning by providing easy access to course materials, class assignments, tests and quizzes, and virtual classrooms.

  • Montana Tech Email

Your assigned Montana Tech email account is your official source of communication with the school and is a great way to stay informed of campus events. You are responsible for maintaining and responding to all notifications sent to you via this account.

  • OrediggerWeb

OrediggerWeb is your official student record at Montana Tech. Use it to review and accept your financial aid, update your contact information, print your class schedule, and view and pay your bill.
