Montana Tech named #1 for Best Online Master’s in Montana

Montana Technological University has been named #1 on the list of Best Online Master's in Montana for 2024 by Online Master’s Colleges (OMC).

Montana Tech offers two fully online master’s degree programs, a Master of Science in Industrial Hygiene and a Master of Project Engineering and Management. The recognition is a testament to Montana Technological University’s unparalleled quality in education. As part of the rankings OMC evaluates various criteria, including graduation and retention rates, affordability, and program accreditation.

“Montana Tech’s online graduate programs maintain the high level of faculty interaction and experiential learning that are a critical differentiator of a Tech education,” Vice Chancellor for Research and Dean of the Graduate School Angela Lueking said.  “Beyond online material, our Industrial Hygiene online degree offers a unique concentrated summer practicum, and our Project Engineering and Management degree includes an integrative capstone management project. We continue to expand these opportunities that target the working professional, equipping them for professional advancement without an interruption to their daily life, nor a sacrifice in educational quality.”

Building from this success, Montana Tech will be launching seven new micro credentials in geological, metallurgical, mining, and environmental engineering, in collaboration with the Department of Defense (Montana Technological University awarded $6.5 million via the Defense Production Act Investments office to create online stackable certificate programs to meet demands for critical minerals, rare earth elements ). This initiative will streamline online student applications and student services for all graduate students at Montana Tech, while providing new course offerings for advanced undergraduate students.
