Bryan Larson, a Montana Tech alumnus, will be the university’s commencement speaker. Larson began his tenure at Stryker, a Fortune 500 medical technology company, in 1997 after graduating from Montana Tech with a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Science and Associate Degree in Business. He worked his way up from Manufacturing Engineer to Production Unit Manager, to R&D Manager, to Director of R&D, then Vice President of R&D, to his current role as the Vice President of Product Excellence for the Endoscopy Division of Stryker. He is also a co-chair of the Stryker Corporation R&D Council.

Petroleum Engineering graduate, Madison Kelly, will speak at the first ceremony, and Mathematical Sciences graduate Austin Kelley will speak at the second event. Kelly grew up in western Montana and graduated from the small town of St. Regis with a class of 7. She is a Montana Tech’s Cross Country and Track team member and has spent the last two summers in Texas interning with Petroleum Engineering companies. She loves the opportunities and support that Montana Tech provides its students. Seyer, originally from Colorado, came to Montana Tech in response to God’s calling on his life. After falling in love with Butte’s community and culture, AJ and his new wife, Alyssa, plan to stay on campus as missionaries so that all might know the love of Jesus.

The Order of the Engineer will be held on Friday, May 5, 2023, at 5:00 pm in the Auditorium on campus. The ceremony will see 47 individuals participate. The Sherry Lesar School of Nursing will hold its Nursing Pinning Ceremony in the Library Auditorium at 8:30 am on Saturday morning. The ceremony symbolizes welcoming newly graduated nurses into the nursing profession. At the ceremony, 26 Bachelor of Science (BSN) students will be presented with nursing pins by Montana Tech Nursing Department faculty.
