The Department of Business at Montana Technological University will host Karen Sullivan, Director and Health Officer for the Butte-Silver Bow Health Department, for their First Friday Speaker Series. Ms. Sullivan's presentation will take place on campus on Friday, November 5, at 10:30 am in the Bob and Pauline Poore Conference Room in the University Relations Center. The theme of the speaker series is The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. This week's topic will be #3, "Put First Things First."
Karen Sullivan is Health Officer for Butte-Silver Bow County and Director of the Butte-Silver Bow Health Department. Ms. Sullivan has served as Health Officer for almost eight years, with her most recent tenure focused on managing the COVID-19 event. Before her work in public health, Ms. Sullivan worked in grants management, federally qualified health center operations, hospice operations, and hospital business development, outreach, marketing and public relations. Prior to her career in healthcare, Ms. Sullivan worked as a news reporter with The Associated Press and in print media. Ms. Sullivan holds a bachelor's degree in Journalism and a master's degree in Organizational Management. She has announced her retirement from her position as Health Officer, effective November 19. Retirement plans include rest and travel with her husband, John, to Boston and Fenway Park, where she will cheer on her beloved Red Sox.
