Montana Technological University has received an anonymous gift for the Lesar Family Nursing Simulation Center. The $50,000 donation will aid in the construction of the simulation center, which is currently underway on campus.
“The need for nurses and other health care professionals has never been greater,” said Montana Tech Chancellor Les Cook. “We’re grateful for all of the donors, both named and anonymous, who so generously provided support for this endeavor which will provide training for generations of nursing professionals.”
“I am grateful for this generous donation to the Nursing Simulation Center,” added Karen VanDaveer, Director of Nursing and interim Dean of Highlands College. “The integration of simulation technology enhances the quality of nursing education and improves the health of our community, state, and beyond.”
Opening for the spring 2022 semester, the simulation center will be a high-tech facility for the nursing department. Within its 5,000 square feet located on the first floor of the Science and Engineering Building, the center will offer four simulation suites with the ability to flex space to hospital, home, or office settings, debriefing rooms, and telehealth rooms. In addition, the center will include a nurse’s station and medication room.
