Montana Technological University recently recognized the nominees for the 2021 Distinguished Student Veteran Award. This year, the university received eight outstanding nominations. The 2021 nominees were Jason Brown, Mechanical Engineering; Amber Dimasi-Jantzen, Biological Sciences; Phillip Gregg, Pre-Apprenticeship Lineman Program; Tyson Honeyfield, Nursing; Casadi Morgan, Mathematical Sciences; Marisa Redgrave, Geological Engineering; Steven Sorensen, Civil Engineering; and Caleb Ygnatowiz, Associate of Science.
The Distinguished Student Veteran Award began in 2014 to honor and recognize outstanding student veterans and active members of the military at Montana Tech. “We are honored every year to recognize our student veterans and active military members who selflessly served our country, and for that, we are forever thankful,” noted Janet Friesz, Registrar/School Certifying Official (SCO).
Each student was nominated by a faculty, student or staff member on campus. Their contribution to the campus and leadership in the classroom is unparalleled. After a thorough review, the university named Casadi Morgan as the recipient of the 2021 Distinguished Student Veteran award. Casadi was nominated for the award based on her service to other students as a tutor at Montana Tech’s Academic Center for Excellence (ACE). The nominator said, “Casadi is a natural leader. It shows in the way she performs her duties and interacts with students and staff at ACE.”
