Larry Smith, Montana Tech Associate Professor and Department Head of Geological Engineering, has had a technical article published in the Quaternary Science Reviews. The paper is titled, “Repeated sedimentation and exposure of glacial Lake Missoula sediments: A lake-level history at Garden Gulch, Montana, USA. The article is on the record of glacial Lake Missoula filling and lowering from about 20,000 to 17,000 years ago at a site between Drummond and Bearmouth, Montana, along I-90. At its maximum filling the lake reached up to about 4,200 feet, which corresponds to the altitude of Gold Creek, Montana. For more information, please contact Larry Smith at 406-496-4859.
