Mobile Vet Center Coming to Montana Tech Campus

The Mobile Vet Center will be on the Montana Tech campus as part of fall orientation events on Tuesday, August 23. The Center will be in the mall area outside the Student Union Building from 10:30 am to 5:00 pm.

Vet Centers are community based programs, and part of the Veterans Health Administration. The goal of the Vet Center program is to provide a broad range of counseling, outreach, and referral services to eligible Service Members to assist them in making a positive post deployment readjustment to life. There are now 4 Vet Centers and 2 Mobile Vet Centers in Montana and others located throughout the United States.

“The Montana Tech Staff Senate was instrumental in bringing the Center to our campus,” noted Joyce O’Neill, Counselor at Montana Tech. “Having the MVC van on campus adds a measure of convenience and efficiency for our veteran students and the veterans in our area. Montana Tech appreciates our student veterans and works hard to continue to be a veteran friendly campus.

Alvie Benskin- Mobile Vet Center Outreach Specialist added, “The Mobile Vet Center gives us the ability to meet with student veterans on their campus and provide information, referral and linkage to VA or other services to eliminate hurdles concerning student success.”

Veterans do not need to make an appointment. All veterans, not just Montana Tech veteran students, are welcome to visit the Mobile Vet Center.

Montana Tech veterans students have a mandatory Veteran’s Orientation meeting on Tuesday, August 23 in the Student Union Building’s Copper Lounge from 3:00 – 400 pm.
