Denny Menholt Donates to Highlands College of Montana Tech
Denny Menholt has donated a 2007 Ford 500 all-wheel-drive car to Highlands College of Montana Tech’s Automotive Technology program. Students will use the vehicle for hands-on learning in labs.
Highland’s automotive technology program currently has 15 students. Graduates of the Automotive Technology program at Highlands College have the skill-set to enter into employment in the U.S. automotive industry. This program includes hands-on technical skills in gasoline and light-duty engines; automatic and manual transmissions; up-to-date scanners, scopes, meters, probes for diagnostic analysis; diagnostic and re-charge of A/C systems; braking tools, lathes and application, and four-wheel alignments. Graduates learn the soft skills required to be successful and compete in the U.S. automotive industry.
“The automotive program is always trying to update their vehicles, transmissions, and transfer cases to match industry, so we are very excited to receive this donation,” noted Dave Gurchiek, dean of Highlands College. “Donations help the automotive program keep our inventory up-to-date and assist with achieving Highlands overall goal, which is to have graduates job-ready - day one. Denny Menholt said they understand how important it is to bring students into the industry, especially due to the shortage of automotive technicians. Denny Menholt Ford wants to help us in any way possible, and for that, we are very appreciative.”
