Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) Program
Montana Technological University is proud to participate in the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) program. WUE is an agreement among 20 western U.S. states and territories that drastically reduces out-of-state tuition costs. WUE students at Montana Tech pay 150% of the in-state rate, saving approximately $50,000 over four years compared to out-of-state tuition!
Anyone who meets admissions standards, enrolls as a full-time student*, and is a resident of on of the following states qualifies!
Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawai’i, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, Wyoming, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI), Federated States of Micronesia (FSM), Guam, Republic of the Marshall Islands, American Samoa, or Republic of Palau.
Advantage Tuition Rate
Not from a WUE state? Great news! Many of our majors qualify for the Advantage rate for full-time students* from other U.S. states and Canada, which is equal to the WUE in value. Simply email us at admissions@mtech.edu to inquire about a program or apply for admission and we’ll notify you if you are eligible.**
*Full-time status for financial aid and for students attending Montana Tech under the WUE and Advantage tuition rates is 12 credits. The WUE and Advantage tuition rates are available for a maximum of nine semesters at Montana Tech, or five semesters at Highlands College. To maintain WUE or Advantage status, students must remain in good academic standing and not break full-time attendance.
**The Advantage tuition rate is not available for the following programs: Associate of Science, A.S.; Nursing, B.S.; Pre-Apprentice Line Certificate Program; Radiologic Technology, A.A.S.
