Julie Morman was raised in Deer Lodge, Montana, and graduated from Montana State University with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, with honors. She later received her master’s in business administration, with distinction, from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management. Julie has 30 years of corporate leadership experience, combining technical and business acumen with deep operational background. Her breadth extends across a variety of industries, including chemical and medical product manufacturing, oil and gas exploration and production, natural resource development, federal construction, public utilities, pipeline construction and ownership, IT managed services, and tourism. She is experienced in developing and fostering organizations to align with ever-changing industry demands while maintaining strong ethics and responsible corporate values.

During her 20 years at 3M, a Fortune 100 company known for its innovation and diverse range of products driven by science and technology, Julie held increasing leadership roles and worked globally across diverse cultures and geographies. Since 2015, Julie has served as the Chief Operating Officer of Doyon, Limited, an Alaska Native Regional Corporation. Doyon is one of the largest privately held employers in the state, and its operating companies work across the United States.

As Doyon's COO, Julie is financially responsible for the portfolio of operating companies and joint ventures. She is adept at linking strategic planning with operational execution. She focuses on leadership development and talent management across the Doyon family of companies. Julie’s growth mindset empowered her to lead five strategic acquisitions and two divestitures, contributing to Doyon’s increasing profitability.

Accomplishments at Doyon under Julie’s leadership include constructing and operating North America's largest land-based extended-reach drilling rig, fabricating and installing major pipelines on the North Slope for ConocoPhillips, Hilcorp, and Exxon, developing and deploying a point-of-sale software system for the entire U.S. National Park System, hosting ICEX, a research and naval exercise in the Beaufort Sea, Time Magazine naming Kantishna Road House as one of the World’s 100 most extraordinary tourist destinations for 2024, and successfully completing hundreds of federal construction projects.

Julie passionately believes in the power of education and is actively involved in the community through the Dimond High School Engineering Academy, Junior Achievement of Alaska, the Doyon Foundation, and the Montana State University Chemical Engineering Advisory Board. Julie values giving back and extends a helping hand to others who wish to further their education. She founded a local program, “Smart Girls Rock!” to inspire and encourage young women to pursue an engineering education.
Julie, her husband Ryan, and their son Beck reside in Anchorage, Alaska, and enjoy the many adventures living in the Last Frontier offers.
