Join us for Family Weekend 2026!

Montana Technological University will welcome students’ families to campus for a fun-filled weekend full of quality time and adventure in Butte, America on October 9-11, 2026.

“Montana Tech is so pleased to offer this tradition and provide opportunities for our students to show their families and friends our campus and everything that makes the Oredigger community special,” Vice Provost for Student Success and Dean of Students Dr. Joe Cooper said. “It's going to be a great weekend, and whether you choose to go explore Butte on your own, or take part in one of our scheduled events, we look forward to having you here!"

Family Weekend will feature a variety of campus traditions and activities for the whole family. Events planned for 2026 include Homecoming Bed Races, pumpkins and cider, a Homecoming tailgate, and the Oredigger football game against MSU-Northern, the volleyball team taking on Mayville State, a trek to the M, underground mine tours and Butte trolley tours.

A complete schedule will be posted as Family Weekend gets closer. Once details are finalized, students will receive information from campuslife@mtech.edu and are encouraged to share it with their families. Space will be limited for the underground mine and trolley tours, so families are encouraged to register early once sign-ups open.
