Indigenous Peoples’ Heritage Celebration set for Sept. 26 at Montana Tech

Montana Tech will host its Indigenous Peoples’ Heritage Celebration from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, at the practice field (next to the HPER) on Montana Tech campus. 

“Montana Tech is proud to recognize and celebrate Indigenous People’s heritage, and we enthusiastically welcome campus and community members to attend this event. This is just one example of our campus’ efforts to recognize and honor the sovereignty, resilience, and vital contributions that our Indigenous communities make to our campus, Butte, and beyond,” Vice Provost for Student Success and Dean of Students Joe Cooper said.

The celebration will feature traditional games, song and dance, drumming and singing, along with food trucks and vendors.

The event is presented by the Butte Native Wellness Center, Montana United Indian Association and Montana Tech Student Outreach and Success.
