The Montana Bureau of Mines and Geology has just released an exciting new story map and video series, Montana Geology: 41 Geosites for the 41st State. This web app showcases photos and videos of 41 magnificent geosites across Montana, with commentary and filming by the MBMG's former Mineral Museum Director, Steven L. Quane. Many of the videos are in 360° format for a more immersive experience. Each video takes you on a short field trip to a location known for its geologic assets, with explanations about the geology and historic features of the area.
This free video series is for geology students, virtual tourists, locals, and anyone with an interest in remotely exploring Montana's scenic and geologic sites.
