Montana Tech announces commencement activities

Montana Technological University is excited to announce the details for its Fall 2025 Commencement Ceremony, celebrating the accomplishments of its graduating students.

The ceremony will take place on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at 10:00 am in the HPER.

The university will award 218 degrees and certificates to 209 students.

The ceremony will be streamed live on Montana Tech's YouTube page for those unable to attend in person.

Featured Speakers:

Montana Tech alumna Joe McClafferty, Chief Executive Officer of Harrington Companies, will deliver the commencement address. His speech will focus on the important concepts of servant leadership, purpose, gratitude, leading, and aiming higher.

The student speech will be given by graduating senior Brady Drummond. Brady will receive a Business & Information Technology degree and the SAP Student Recognition Award. She will share her story and offer a message of encouragement, reflecting on her deep appreciation for the community she found in Butte and at Montana Tech.

Events leading up to and on the morning of commencement are as follows:

· The Line Rodeo will take place on Friday, December 12 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm in the pole yard at Highlands College.

· The Order of the Engineer will be held on Friday, December 12 at 5:00 pm in the Library Auditorium. The ceremony will see around 25 participants this semester.

· The Sherry Lesar School of Nursing will hold its Nursing Pinning Ceremony in the Library Auditorium on Saturday morning, December 13 at 8:00 am. The ceremony symbolizes welcoming newly graduated nurses into the nursing profession. At the ceremony, 21 Bachelor of Science (BSN) students will be presented with nursing pins by Montana Tech Nursing Department faculty.
