Marcus Daly statue to be temporarily stored during summer construction

As Montana Technological University progresses with the construction and installation of a new heating system on campus, the project contractor will temporarily remove and relocate the Marcus Daly statue on Tuesday, June 4, 2024. Please note that this is a temporary measure and the statue will be returned to its original location in August once the construction is complete. The utmost care will be used when removing the metal portion of the statue and during transport to a safe and secure location. The statue's stone base will remain in place during this time. Montana Tech is committed to preserving the historic statue and its return will be a moment of celebration for our campus community. 

This work is part of the $50 million in construction projects the university will complete over the next several years, which includes the future renovation of Main and Engineering Halls and major repairs to electrical distribution, restrooms, and exterior repairs on campus.
