Chancellor’s Distinguished Fellowships (CDF’s): consist of a one year scholarship payment of $10,000 [$5000 per semester], which is equivalent to a one year of a “Grade I” stipend level, with a full tuition waiver [up to 12 credit hours of in- or out-of-state tuition]. Departments may choose to supplement these funds to increase the scholarship payment up to Grade III equivalent ($15,840).
Student eligibility is limited to (a) new graduate student applicants, and under more limited circumstances (b) existing graduate students that have an exceptional research record, a demonstrated discontinuity in external funding support, and a strong recommendation from their advisor and/or department. Fellowship selection is made by committee, with prioritization given to exceptional students with a demonstrated history of research (at the undergraduate or graduate level).
