Montana Tech professor and department head Tim Kober has received the Jack Kempner Outstanding Educator of the Year Award from the Montana Society of CPAs.
The Jack Kempner Outstanding Educator Award is given to an educator annually who has demonstrated distinguished excellence in the classroom, motivates students, initiates educational innovation, and contributes to the accounting profession by active involvement in professional activities such as participation in professional accounting organizations.
Dr. Kober has been a member of the faculty in the Business & Information Technology Department at Montana Tech for 30 years and has served as Department Head since 2008.
“This was a complete surprise,” noted Kober. “It is very humbling and I cannot describe just how honored I feel. The accounting educators in this state are a very dedicated group of individuals and I am speechless to be recognized in this manner.”
“Although Tim might be surprised by this award, it is not a surprise to those of us at Montana Tech who greatly appreciate his excellent instruction,” said Steve Gammon, Dean of the College of Letters, Sciences & Professional Studies at Montana Tech. “We are so pleased that Tim has been recognized for his commitment to the students of Montana Tech.”
Kober will receive the award in June at the Montana Society of CPAs Annual Conference in Billings.
