Montana Tech surprised two Butte students with the Montana Resources Opportunity Scholarship at the cross-town boy's basketball game at the Butte Civic Center on Thursday evening. The scholarship is part of Montana Tech’s Be the First Initiative and is made possible through the generous support of Montana Resources and the Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation along with many local donors. The scholarship helps first-generation Butte kids with financial need realize their educational dreams. This scholarship provides all the costs associated with attending Montana Tech – tuition, fees, room and board, and books.
The scholarships were presented to Aryana Rodriguez from Butte Central Catholic High School and Greyson Gleason from Butte High School. Both students plan to study nursing at Montana Tech.
Montana Tech and the Montana Tech Foundation are working to grow this endowment in order to provide this scholarship every year to Butte kids with big dreams. The Foundation is working diligently to make sure first-generation students in Butte have the opportunity to lead extraordinary lives. and will continue to seek support to grow this endowment and to perpetuate this opportunity.
