Dr. John Ray has Paper Accepted for Presentation

Dr. John W. Ray of Montana Tech’s Liberal Studies Department has had a peer reviewed paper entitled “The Kantian Rhetorics of Franz Theremin and Ch. Perelman: A Critical Analysis” accepted for the Twenty-Second Biennial Conference of the International Society for the History of Rhetoric to be held this summer in New Orleans, Louisiana. Over forty nations will be represented at the conference.
Dr. Ray has also been invited to be a paper/topic respondent for the National Communication Association’s meeting this fall in Salt Lake City. Dr. Ray will be responding to papers on the topic of “Civility and Conflict Resolution.”

Dr. Ray has published and presented papers on Kant’s influence on rhetorical theory for the International French Kant Society Conference at Gutenberg University in Mainz, Germany, the Evidence and Argument Conference at Heidelberg University in Germany and the International Society for the Study of Argumentation Conference at the University of Amsterdam, Holland. He has also published papers on Kant’s rhetorical influence through the University of Tubingen Germany and the National Communication Association in the U.S.

Dr. Ray teaches classes at Montana Tech in political science and communications. Lately, he has been concentrating on topics related to political civility.
