The first Chancellor’s Concert with the theme “An Afternoon of Gratitude” is scheduled for Sunday, April 29th at 4:00 pm in the Library Auditorium following a reception at the Chancellor’s home at 3:00 pm. Open to Montana Tech faculty, staff and their families, the concert will feature two choirs: Montana Tech’s Copper Hill Choir and the Choral Union singing Broadway theater and popular music.
“Our Tech family of faculty and staff do tremendous work,” said Dr. Don Blackketter, Chancellor of Montana Tech. “As we complete another successful academic year, it is important for me to communicate my thanks and gratitude for your dedication to our students and our important educational mission. If you have not heard our student Copper Hill Choir perform, you are in for a treat. I encourage everyone on our Montana Tech campus to come for an afternoon of appreciation, fun, and celebration. Vicki and I are proud to host this event in your honor.”
Musical Director and Conductor for the concert will be Dr. Gary Funk. The Stage Director and Emcee’ will be Dr. John M. Garic. The 21-member Copper Hill Choir consists of 14 engineering majors, 4 biology majors, 2 nursing majors, 2 computer science majors, 1 business major and 1 network technology major. The 47-member Choral Union consists of regional community members including current and retired Tech faculty and staff.
The concert for Tech faculty, staff and their families is free. Seating in the Library Auditorium is limited and thus tickets for the event will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
