Montana Tech Wrestling Club Hosting Tournament

The Montana Tech wrestling club will host the Doc Belshaw Last Chance Invite wrestling tournament on Saturday, January 20, 2018 in the Montana Tech HPER. The tournament is named after Doc Belshaw who coached at Montana Tech in the 90s.

The tournament is open to all post high school wrestlers. Contestants must be eligible for collegiate competition or present proof of insurance.

Montana Tech is currently ranked No. 3 in the National Collegiate Wrestling Association Northwest Conference rankings. Five Montana Tech students are ranked in the top 4 in their weight classes. Chris Moodry, a sophomore, civil engineering student from Gillette, WY, wresting at 149 is ranked No. 2. Riley McDowell, a junior majoring in petroleum engineering from Dewitt, IA, at the 235 weight class is ranked No. 1. At 285, Montana Tech student Kaelan Yanak, a freshman majoring in welding technology from Eureka, MT is ranked No. 1. At 197, a recent wrestling team addition is Doug Womack, a junior majoring in Petroleum Engineering from Frenchtown, MT, is ranked 3rd.
