Montana Tech students ace the Educational Testing Service (ETS) Proficiency Profile Exam out-performing 91% of 294 institutions where 132,422 seniors took the same exam. Each year Montana Tech administers the Educational Testing Service (ETS) Proficiency Profile Exam to approximately 300-400 juniors and seniors. This proctored exam measures general education outcomes in critical thinking, reading, writing, and mathematics. Since 2006, when Montana Tech first began giving this exam, Montana Tech students have consistently out-performed comparable institutions. As might be expected of students attending Montana’s premier Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) institution, Montana Tech students demonstrate outstanding performance in the areas of critical thinking, mathematics, and natural sciences, typically out-scoring 94% of comparable institutions.
