Dr. Alan Berkowitz will be speaking to the Montana Tech campus this week. Dr. Berkowitz is highly regarded for his scholarship and innovative programming related to alcohol prevention, violence prevention, bystander behavior, social norms, and social justice issues.
On Wednesday, Sept. 27, at noon in the Montana Tech Copper Lounge, Dr. Berkowitz will speak to Montana Tech faculty and staff. His presentation is titled, “Current Research and Theory for Preventing Sexual Assault on Campus.”
On Sept. 28 at 5:30 pm in the Copper Lounge on Montana Tech’s campus, Dr. Berkowitz will present to Montana Tech students. The title of this presentation is, “Your Role in Preventing Sexual Assault: Recent Research and Theory.” Each presentation is approximately 1-hour long.
The Montana Tech Rape Prevention Education (RPE) team is sponsoring Dr. Berkowitz in Butte. “With funding through a CDC grant managed by the State of Montana DPPHS, Montana Tech has been able to bring nationally known speakers to our community,” notes Cricket Pietsch, Montana Tech Counselor and RPE member.
