Christopher Smith, a junior in Geophysical Engineering at Montana Tech, was presented with the 2016 Distinguished Student Veteran Award. The campus community nominated 14 students based on reliability, initiative, uniqueness of contribution, community and campus services.
Smith served 4 ½ years in the United States Army. He is a combat veteran who served in Iraq in 2003. “Smith received many great nominations from across campus,” noted Janet Friesz, Enrollment Services Specialist and Veterans School Certifying Official. “Chris, along with all of our veteran students, served our country and we will be forever grateful. We are thankful they are at Montana Tech pursing a great education.”
