Barnard Construction Donates to Montana Tech

Montana Tech held a ribbon-cutting event today on campus for the Barnard Construction Lab. The lab is thanks to a donation of $75,000 from Barnard Construction to the Montana Tech Civil Engineering Department. The funds upgraded a computer lab in the Science & Engineering Building (S&E) on campus. The lab will impact over 250 current general engineering students at Montana Tech along with many future engineering students.

“We are thrilled with the donation from Barnard Construction and their commitment and belief in our Montana Tech engineering students,” explained Larry Hunter, Assistant Professor of Practice in the General Engineering Department at Montana Tech. “The computer lab has received a major hardware upgrade and our students will now learn using state-of-the-art equipment.”

“With our United States infrastructure receiving a failing D+ grade from the American Society of Civil Engineers and the need for over 250,000 engineers by 2020, Montana Tech is stepping up to help solve this problem. We are recruiting, educating, preparing, and graduating the engineers that our nation needs,” noted Joe McClafferty, President of the Montana Tech Foundation.
