Kasperick Selected as PES Scholarship Plus Initiative Recipient

Zach Kasperick, a Montana Tech Electrical Engineering student from Butte, has been selected as a Power & Energy Society (PES) Scholarship Plus Initiative recipient for the 2015/16 academic year.   

The PES Scholarship Plus Initiative supports the most promising future engineers in power and energy. Recipients are high-achieving undergraduate students in electrical engineering programs who have committed to exploring the power and energy engineering field through both coursework and career experiences. PES regional volunteer leaders select recipients following the application submission period ending in June of each year. Within a few years, these promising students will graduate with the knowledge and career experience necessary to begin making an impact across the power and energy industry.

"Zach is an outstanding student, and very deserving of this award," said Professor Dan Trudnowski, head of the Electrical Engineering Department at Montana Tech. "The Power & Energy Society represents a global group of electrical engineers who work around-the-clock to maintain a safe and reliable supply of electricity. They are the people who 'keep the lights on', and we look forward to seeing Zach and his classmates join their ranks."  

Approximately 210 students from across the USA & Canada will be recognized as PES Scholarship Plus recipients.

The scholarship recognizes undergraduate students who have declared a major in electrical engineering, are high achievers with strong GPAs with distinctive extracurricular commitments and are committed to exploring the power and energy field. Each scholarship recipient receives $2,000 USD and can receive funding for up to 3 y
