Montana Tech has received a contribution of $20,000 from QEP Resources, a leading independent crude oil and natural gas exploration and production company. The gift will be used to provide scholarships to students in the Petroleum Engineering Department.
“QEP has a strong and long-standing relationship with Montana Tech,” noted Montana Tech Foundation Executive Director Michael Barth. “We appreciate their investment in our students and their efforts to build their brand on our campus, as well as the work they do in the communities where they operate to support and encourage STEM education and engineering opportunities with our young people.”
“We are pleased to invest in the next generation of energy professionals through the QEP Education Foundation,” commented Shanda Vangas, Manager of QEP’s Community Investments and Partnerships. “The people that will be leading the growth of our industry are sitting in classrooms right now, so it’s critical that we partner with higher education institutions, such as Montana Tech, that do an excellent job preparing graduates for future careers in the energy industry. We value our partnership and we are proud to provide scholarships to support deserving Montana Tech students.”
