Whiting Petroleum Corporation, an independent exploration and production company, has donated $200,000 to Montana Tech to fund the Whiting Petroleum Faculty Endowment. The gift will be used to support faculty in the Petroleum Engineering Department.
“Whiting Petroleum recognizes the impact that Montana Tech is having on their business and on the oil and gas industry,” said Michael Barth, Executive Director of the Montana Tech Foundation. “They have been tremendous partners and now investors in our campus to ensure the future supply of high-quality graduates. Whiting Petroleum has invested in both our people and place, first by supporting our Natural Resources Building and most recently, through two gifts to build an endowment supporting our petroleum faculty. We celebrate their support of our faculty that will impact the lives of thousands of our students over the course of their teaching careers.”
“Whiting values our association with Montana Tech. We have numerous Montana Tech graduates working throughout our organization,” noted Jim Brown, Whiting Petroleum Corporation’s President and COO. “The Montana Tech graduates are intelligent, hardworking, and exhibit a get-it-done attitude. We see value in supporting the faculty because we believe they play a large role in cultivating the students who become our employees.”
