The search committee for the Athletic Director position at Montana Tech announced today the names of the four candidates who have been invited to campus for an interview. The candidates are: John Fitzgerald, Charles Bradley, Jeff Falkner, and John Means.
Fitzgerald is a former All-Big Sky Conference Fullback, who since graduation has had a successful high school football and track and field coaching career. He has also acted in the capacity of Athletic Director at Red Lodge High School in Red Lodge, MT since 2006. He is currently the AD and Head Football Coach at Red Lodge. He holds a bachelor of arts degree in elementary education from the University of Montana and a master of education degree in Leadership and Administration from the University of Phoenix.
Bradley is a former college and professional athlete as well as a college coach. He has 16 years of coaching experience, which includes duties in administration, recruitment, and fundraising. Bradley also brings with his time spent in the business world as an employee and entrepreneur. He holds a bachelor of arts degree in Elementary Education from the University of Wyoming and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Administration Education.
Jeff Faulkner is currently the Athletic Director at Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa where he oversees 19 varsity sports as well as many JV opportunities. He holds an associate of arts degree in Liberal Arts from Santa Barbara City College, a bachelor of arts degree in Communications from Grand View College, and a master’s of arts in Intercollegiate Athletics Administration from California University of Pennsylvania.
John Means has been involved in college athletics for over 25 years, mostly a a golf coach, but also as an assistant athletic director and fundraiser. He currently serves as the head men’s Golf Coach at the University of Idaho in Moscow, ID. He holds a bachelor of science degree in Education from the University of Oklahoma and a master’s degree in Education from Colorado State University.
Interview schedules:
• Fitzgerald will interview on campus on Tuesday, April 23. An open campus and community forum will be held at 3:00 pm in the Bob and Pauline Poore Conference Room in the Frank and Ann Gimore University Relations Center.
• Bradley will interview on Wednesday, April 24. He will have an open campus and community forum at 3:00 pm in the Copper Lounge in the Student Union Building.
• Faulkner will interview on Wednesday, May 1. He will have an open campus and community forum taking place at 3:00 pm in the Copper Lounge in the Student Union Building.
• Means will interview on Friday, May 3. He will have an open campus and community forum at 3:00 pm in the Copper Lounge in the Student Union Building.
The campus is searching for an Athletic Director as former AD Joe McClafferty is now serving as Vice Chancellor for Development and University Relations and President of the Montana Tech Foundation.
