U.S. News and World Report released their 2013 edition of Best Online Programs. Montana Tech was listed in the No. 29 spot for Best Online Graduate Engineering Programs. The Best Online Graduate Engineering Programs category ranks the best online master’s in engineering degree programs, based on factors such as academic reputation among peer institutions, faculty credentials, and admissions selectivity.
Montana Tech offers two online graduate engineering programs: Industrial Hygiene Distance Learning--Professional Track and Project Engineering & Management (MPEM).
The ABET-accredited master’s program in Industrial Hygiene Distance Learning/Professional Track is designed to bring graduate education in industrial hygiene to working professionals. The online I.H. degree is structured to encourage participative, collaborative, and applied problem-solving strategies that are facilitated by a faculty whose advanced academic preparation and professional experience help integrate academic theory with current practical application.
The MPEM curriculum is designed to provide the tools necessary to become an efficient project manager. The program is designed to give working professionals an opportunity to enhance their technical and management skills with minimum disruption to their workday. MPEM enhances management skills of practicing engineers and scientists. The 30 credit, non-thesis degree focuses on technical management.
"We are pleased to be recognized by U.S. News for online education," explained Chancellor Don Blackketter. "Our MPEM and Industrial Hygiene programs are strong online programs and this listing showcases the quality of both programs."
