Biography

Mr. Roos is very passionate about mining, especially mine planning, and considers it a privilege to pass that passion along to future generations of mining engineers. Mr. Roos currently teaches courses related to surface mine design and planning, mine surveying, proper selection of mining methods, and Engineering Economics. He also works to ensure the students at Montana Tech have access to the most current mine planning software and techniques. Mr. Roos is currently serving as the faculty advisor for the Intercollegiate Mining Team and has contributed to the advancement of the Underground Mine Education Center.

  • Recipient of the 2011 Robert Peele Memorial Award from the Mining & Exploration Division of the Society for Mining, Metallurgy and Exploration.
