Biography

Dr. Lucon received a B.S. degree from Montana State University, Bozeman, MT, in Mechanical Engineering in 2002, an M.S. degree from Montana Tech of the University of Montana, Butte, MT, in General Engineering in 2004, and a Ph.D. degree from Montana State University, Bozeman, MT, in Mechanical Engineering in 2013.

He worked as a mechanical engineer at Resodyn Corporation, Butte, MT, from 2005 to 2009, where he developed models and control methodology for the sonic drilling process, developed lumped parameter mathematical models for the ResonantAcoustic® Mixers, and co-developed and verified a control scheme to find and track mechanical resonance of the ResonantAcoustic® Mixers. From 2009 to 2017 he served as a senior mechanical engineer at Resodyn Corporation, Butte, MT, and from 2011 to 2017 he was the Director of Technology and Processing for Resodyn Acoustic Mixers, Butte, MT. During his time at Resodyn Corporation, he was PI for $3.0M in Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) grants. He then accepted a faculty position as an Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering in the General Engineering Department at Montana Tech, Butte, MT, in 2017 where he is currently an Assistant Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department. He has worked in the field of Resonant Systems and Technology since 2005. His research interests include utilizing resonance in new applications and incorporating resonance in existing applications.

Dr. Lucon is a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT), International Neural Networks Society (INNS), American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), and American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE). He is a licensed professional engineer (MT/15543). He is also an Audi Club of North America member.
