Research Interests
My research interests are in applied mathematics, in particular mathematical biology. I collaborated with another mathematician/statistician to create a stochastic simulation model to study the interactions between a native and non-native trout species in the Snake River, Idaho. I am currently collaborating with a biologist in Taiwan on a study of the Formosan landlocked salmon, an endangered species in Taiwan. We are constructing a simulation model to predict the effects of dam removal on the abundance of this species. I also enjoy serving as a mentor for undergraduate research projects.
Non-Research Academic Interests
I help organize the Create Math Summer Experience at Montana Tech.
