Biography
I have an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Jadavpur University, India, followed by a MS in Engineering Science (Computational Fluid Dynamics) and a PhD in Mathematics from University of Tennessee, Knoxville. I have been a visiting faculty at the University of South Florida, a postdoctoral researcher at Ben Gurion University, Israel, a scientific visitor at the Semester in Quantitative Geometry, MSRI, Berkeley, and a scientific visitor at the special Semester in Extension Problems at Fields Institute, Canada.
Research Interests
I am broadly interested in geometric and topological questions, and their connections to other areas of mathematics such as algebra (group theory) and analysis (functional analysis). I am also interested in applications of geometry and topology to the physical sciences. The fields I have been active in the past few years are dimension theory, geometric group theory, coarse geometry, groupoid C* algebras, and applied topology.
