Sebastian Perduss is an Assistant Professor of Business at Montana Technological University, where he teaches courses in Business Information Systems, Data Analytics, and Operations Management. His classes emphasize Data Analytics, enterprise systems (SAP S/4HANA), applied learning, and real-world problem solving.

Professor Perduss holds a B.S. in Information Technology and Accounting from Montana Tech and an M.S. in Data Analytics. He brings more than 20 years of industry experience to the classroom, including roles at BASF S.E., the world’s largest chemical company, and Northwestern Energy, where he supported SAP and other finance systems. His career has focused on ERP technology, data management, analytics, system upgrades, and mergers and acquisitions, along with mentoring and training employees in complex technical environments.

His teaching and research explore digital transformation, enterprise systems integration, IT infrastructure, and experiential learning in business education. Passionate about data analytics, he incorporates tools such as Excel, Tableau, Power BI, and SAP into his courses, giving students hands-on practice with modern business applications. By bridging theory with applied analytics, he equips students with the technical skills and problem-solving abilities needed to succeed in today’s data-driven business world.

Outside of teaching, Sebastian enjoys Montana’s outdoors through fishing, hiking, and skiing. He is passionate about travel and exploring new places and cultures, and he also finds joy in gardening and making the most of Montana’s changing seasons. A lifelong learner, he continues to seek new knowledge and experiences both inside and outside the classroom.
