What is ACE?
The mission of the Academic Center for Excellence (ACE) is to assist and empower students to succeed and excel academically, persist through graduation, prepare for graduate and professional endeavors, and develop an appreciation for lifelong learning.
Program Objectives
- Provide accessible and quality tutoring for all Montana Tech students.
- Mentor and train qualified and committed undergraduate and graduate students to deliver academic support services.
- Promote our services among faculty and students.
ACE is strongly committed to ongoing assessment and evaluation in order to enhance current programs and develop innovative services that increase student success and their persistence at the university. These services include drop-in tutoring, private appointment tutoring, and academic success coaching.
Programs and services are available to all currently enrolled Montana Tech students, although particular attention is given to first years, new transfers, and continuing students who want to improve their academic performance.

We offer private tutoring in a variety of subjects, including Math, Physics, Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Statics, Circuits, and study skills.
Unable to come to campus for tutoring? Need some math help at 2am? Online tutoring is offered to students 24/7.
The Writers’ Studio is helps Montana Tech students meet their academic and professional writing needs.
Get paid to become a tutor, writing consultant, front desk associate, or tutor coordinator.

Students can sign up to take placement tests or accommodated faculty exams.
ACE houses 6 private rooms that can be used for studying, tutoring, and/or private calls.
Our Wellness Room is equipped with supplies to de-stress, meditate, relax, or enjoy some privacy.
