TELEMENTAL HEALTH PROVIDER ALLOWS MONTANA TECH TO BETTER SERVE OREDIGGERS

Montana Technological University has partnered with Mantra Health, a telemental health provider, to offer virtual mental healthcare options for students during daytime, evening, and weekend hours.

Mantra Health will offer virtual therapy services with licensed clinicians and direct student sign-up for therapy. This allows an on-campus counselor to focus on those students at higher risk and availability for crisis intervention and training. Today, Montana Tech has an on-campus counselor, Mantra Health virtual counselors, and self-help options for students through CampusWell and You@Tech.

“Mantra Health does telemental health right,” said Tara Kloker, on-campus counselor. “Students can directly sign-up or go through on-campus counseling and complete an intake. This allows Mantra and Tech Counseling to ensure a student is appropriate for telemental health services. Tech truly cannot do this vital work alone. Mantra has been instrumental in helping to address the mental health needs of the Oredigger Community.”

“Currently, students are reporting ease of use, liking the flexibility of time and place, and excited for more opportunities to access care,” Kloker said. “We are looking to the future of Counseling Services and increasing access by adding a Graduate Intern to the team and hopefully inspire the next generation of licensed campus counselors.”
