Montana Tech Named a Top STEM University

Learn.org has published its 2019 rankings for the top STEM universities in the country, and Montana Tech ranked #6.
The top schools on the list in order are: Colorado School of Mines, Michigan Technological University, South Dakota School of Mines, Missouri University of Science and Technology, SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry, and Montana Tech.

To compile the list, Learn.org considered hundreds of STEM universities across the country and selected Montana Tech based on academic and career resources, the quality of education, faculty, and more.

Learn.org noted that Montana Tech stands out for its commitment to the study of science, technology, and engineering, as well as its programs in math and computer science.

For this ranking, Learn.org looked at the STEM programs available at schools across the nation and selected the top 50 schools to profile. The schools on the list have sizable research funding, opportunities for undergraduate research, and robust programs in some or all of the four STEM disciplines: science, technology, engineering, and math. Additionally, these programs are affordable and accessible to a wide range of prospective students. In order to create this list, they combined these factors along with several data points from the U.S. Department.
