Montana Tech has provided links to the following websites that offer scholarships or other resources available to students.  Beginning on May 19, 2015, no new individual scholarships will be listed unless they have a relationship with Montana Tech and our students received scholarships from the donor for multiple years. 

The Federal Trade Commission has published consumer information on Scholarship and Financial Aid Scams.  Please make yourself aware of this information.

  • ** Montana University System Scholarship Listing ** - Many scholarships are listed.  Deadlines vary.
  • American Welding Society Foundation Scholarships - multiple scholarships available for students majoring in welding engineering.  Deadlines vary.
  • Bitterroot Audubon Society Scholarship - Scholarship application is available to students currently attending a Montana College/University in a four year degree program majoring in a Natural Resource Field.  Deadline June 1 for Fall Semester and December 1 for Spring Semester.
  • Career Step Scholarships - Scholarships for graduating high school seniors, mothers returning to school, and military service members and spouses.  Deadlines vary.
  • CollegeNET - This is a unique scholarship that's awarded weekly via a scholarship election system. You create a profile and post to topic and video forums up to five times a day. You have the opportunity to vote on other candidate's postings, and they can vote on yours. You receive points for casting and receiving votes. Whoever receives the most points at the end of the election period, wins the scholarship. The scholarships are generally $3,000 - $5,000 per week. Deadline Weekly.
  • College Resource Network - Free database with over $800 million in scholarship resources.
  • College Scholarships and Resources for Women provided by - Explore scholarships for female students.  Deadlines Vary.
  • Colstrip Power Plant / Northern Cheyenne Scholarship - Deadline April 10, 2019. Colstrip Power Plant follows the Northern Cheyenne Tribal Education Department application process. Applications can be obtained from the Tribal Education Department or on the Northern Cheyenne Nation website
  • The George M. Dennison Civic Engagement Scholarship - Awarded to community-engaged students.  Deadline 11/10.
  • Desk and Derrick Educational Trust - Scholarship application is available to citizens of the US and Canada planning a career in the petroleum, energy or allied industry, or research and development of alternative fuels. Deadline April 1st.
  • FastWeb - This is a massive scholarship database with incredible matching technology to assist you in finding scholarships for which you can apply.  Deadline Varies.
  • Gianforte Trade Scholarships - (Formerly The Gianforte Manufacturing Scholarships) These scholarships are provided in partnership with the Gianforte Family Foundation and Montana University System.  Deadline vary depending upon semester.
  • Horatio Alger Career and Technical Scholarship - The Horatio Alger Career and Technical Scholarship Program awards scholarships to students who have faced and overcome great obstacles in their lives who wish to pursue a career or technical education at an accredited non-profit post-secondary institution in the United States.
  • Kids’ Chance of Montana - Scholarship application is available to students between 16 and 26 who is the dependent of a parent or guardian who suffered a work-caused fatality or catastrophic injury. Deadline March 31.
  • Maureen and Mike Mansfield Native American Scholarship - The Maureen and Mike Mansfield Native American Scholarship shall provide at least two scholarships each year for deserving female Native American students, at the undergraduate level, and who are from any of the seven Indian reservations within the State of Montana. The scholarships shall be available to students who wish to attend one of the four University of Montana campuses.
  • Montana State Elks Association, William and Sara Jenne Scholarship - Deadline June 1st
    This Scholarship is intended for students who have completed their first year of instruction at a Montana institution of higher learning and intend to continue their education into their second year of study at a Montana school. Applicants must be able to demonstrate the completion of full year of study and cumulative GPA of 2.0 to be considered.

  • Nurse Corps Scholarship Program - Deadline May 21st
  • Public Lands Foundation  - Scholarship application is available to full-time students who are juniors, seniors, or masters-level students majoring in a natural resource curriculum. Deadline March 15.
  • Reach Higher Montana Scholarship - $1000 scholarships awarded to Montana High School graduates. Deadline January 15.
  • Scholarships for Students with Disabilities - this site lists multiple scholarships that are available for students with disabilities.  Deadlines vary.
  • Society of Petroleum Engineers Powder River Basin Section - Deadline March 20, 2020.
  • - This website is an excellent free resource for students looking for assistance in paying for their education.  Deadline Varies.
