academic standing at Montana Tech

Advising

Understanding Academic Standing

You will be put on academic probation during any semester that your GPA is less than 2.0.  If you are on academic probation, you will be limited to 15 credits.  You also may be required to take College Success (MT 1016).  In order to be removed from probation, you must get a GPA of 2.0 each semester until your cumulative GPA reaches a 2.0.  You may appeal probation if you feel like you have extenuating circumstances.

You will be academically suspended from Montana Tech if you are on probation and fail to meet the minimum academic requirements.  If you are suspended, you will not be allowed to attend school for one semester.  Once you return to Montana Tech, you will remain on probation until the GPA requirements are met.

You can use a GPA calculator to figure out how many semesters it will take you to get back in good standing.  You can also see both your cumulative and your semester GPA in Oredigger Web.
