Undergraduate   Research   Programs   (URP)

These programs were established to give motivated undergraduates a chance to participate in research and scholarly activity in order to further their career and educational goals.  Click on the photos below to learn about each of Montana Tech's Undergraduate Research Programs.  Please contact the URP committee at urp@mtech.edu with any questions.

Proposals are now being accepted!  The deadline is February 3, 2014.

Traditional Program

Traditional   URP

Each student participating in the traditional program will receive a $1,500 stipend payable in three increments. For purposes of the awards, research is broadly defined and may include investigations of a cultural or historical question, documentary or production arts, as well as laboratory or field research more typically associated with the science or engineering disciplines.  more...

RAMP Program

RAMP   Program

RAMP is designed to fund small research teams consisting of faculty and undergraduates (primarily freshmen and sophomores). Undergraduates to be funded do not have to be identified prior to submitting the proposal.  more...

SURF   Program

SURF is designed to provide an intensive, in-depth research experience to a small number of Montana Tech undergraduate students. Projects will span 8-10 weeks.  more...
