Veterans Orientation and Open House

Montana Tech will conduct an Orientation specifically for its students who are Veterans on Thursday, August 29th at 4 pm in the Copper Lounge in the Student Union Building. The Orientation event will be followed at 5 pm by a ribbon cutting and Open House/Reception for its new North Campus Veterans Lounge. This new veterans’ space is located in the lower level of the SUB.

“Our new Veterans Lounge will serve as a home for student veterans,” said Reanna Lange, one of Tech’s Veterans Certifying Officials/Education Benefits Specialists. “It will be a safe haven for quiet study where our veterans can get away from the ‘noise’ of campus life and study, do computer work, socialize and otherwise provide peer support and fellowship.”

Attendance at the Veterans Orientation is mandatory. For those unable to attend this event, a second Orientation session will be held at Highlands College (the South Campus) on September 4th at 12 noon. The Highlands College Veterans Lounge opened during this past Spring semester and has enjoyed regular usage.

“Montana Tech has earned the status of a Veteran Friendly university,” said Dr. Don Blackketter, Chancellor of Montana Tech. “We are proud of our students who are veterans and we want to be there for them and provide them with all the support we have available.”
