Bill and Marnie (Millard) Tiddy of Collinsville, IL, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on April 18, 2012 with a mass and family dinner. Bill and Marnie were married April 18, 1962, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Butte. They were blessed with three children, Patty Tiddy-McWhite, Ralph Tiddy and wife Carla, and Michael Tiddy and wife Judy. Their blessings continued with seven grandchildren: Trevor McWhite, Jessica, Ashton, and Braden, and Ben, Lauren, and Sean Tiddy. Bill graduated from Montana Tech in 1963 with a bachelor of science degree in Metallurgical Engineering. He and Marnie are both retired, living and golfing in Collinsville.1976
Ed O'Donnell has been named Chief Operating Officer of Venoco, Inc. Ed has served as Senior Vice President for Southern California Operations since 2007. He originally joined Venoco in 1997 as Vice President of Development, after which he was promoted to Vice President of the offshore business unit. Ed has served two terms on the board and served as President of the company's domestic division from 2001 to 2002.
Prior to joining Veneco, Ed worked for Unocal for more than 20 years, including 4 years in corporate planning and more than 10 years in operations management. At Unocal, he managed onshore and offshore assets in California, Alaska, and West Texas. Ed earned a bachelor of science degree in Petroleum Engineering from Montana Tech in 1976. Other degrees include a master's in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Southern California and an MBA from Pepperdine University. He has been a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers as well as the American Petroleum Institute.1982
Mark E. Isto has been named Vice President of Operations of First Nickel, Inc. Mark graduated from Montana Tech in 1982 with a bachelor of science degree in Mining Engineering. He has a 30-year career in mining in which he has held a number of progressively senior positions in operations and project management at two major mining companies, including Head of Technical Services, Project Manager, Mine General Manager, and Senior Vice President of expansion projects and mining. He was most recently Senior Vice President of Infrastructure Projects at Kinross Gold Corp.1984
Connie Ternes-Daniels was named Interim Chief Executive of Anaconda–Deer Lodge County this past March. Connie graduated from Montana Tech in 1984 with a bachelor of science degree in Society and Technology.1987
Riverstone Resources, Inc. has appointed Peter Carter as Vice President-Engineering. Peter holds a diploma in Mining Technology from BCIT and in 1987 earned a bachelor of science degree in Mining Engineering from Montana Tech. In 2006, he earned an Executive MBAA from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario. He has over 25 years' experience in the mining industry, with various assignments in engineering, production management, and project development with an emphasis on surface mining operations.
Joe Driscoll has been named Vice President of Great Basin Gold's Nevada Operations. Joe graduated from Montana Tech in 1987 with a bachelor of science degree in Mining Engineering. He started his mining career in 1986 at Western Energy Company as a Metallurgical Technician. Joe has also worked for Pegasus Gold, New Butte Mining Company, Independence Mining Company, Stillwater Mining Company, and Newmont's Carlin and Midas Operations. In 2005, he was Mine Manager at Queenstake Resources' Jerritt Canyon Operations, and in 2006 he joined Barrick's Goldstrike Mine as Mine Operations and Maintenance Superintendent. In 2007, he rejoined Newmont's Carlin Operation where he has been Leeville Mine Manager until his appointment with Great Basin Gold. Joe will be responsible for leading the well-qualified management team that is primarily focused on safety operating and developing the Company's Hollister and Esmeralda operations, and instrumental in enhancing partnerships and relations with stakeholders in the area. His role is also to direct the team's efforts toward intended long-term growth, backed by sustained performance, in that operating environment.1990
Mike Johnson received his PhD from The University of Montana this past May. Mike is the former Vice Chancellor for Development & Student Services and President of the Montana Tech Foundation at Montana Tech. He is a 1990 Business & Information Technology graduate. Mike is currently the President of Management Consultants, Inc.
Luke Buckley, computer software engineer with the Montana Bureau of Mines and Geology, recently attended the Montana Water Well Drillers Association annual convention in Billings. During the convention's banquet, the Board of Water Well Contractors presented him with a plaque acknowledging his long-standing work developing the MBMG's Ground Water Information Center and the "DrillerWeb" online water-well log filing system used by water well contractors. Luke graduated from Montana Tech in 1994 with an associate of science/Engineering degree and then again in 1995 with a bachelor of science degree in Mathematics.
Butte psychotherapist Renee Sanchez recently underwent training in Austin, Texas regarding the treatment of anxiety symptoms using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. This treatment is based on clinical research and practice, integrating anxiety disorder treatments. The training focused on such topics as obsessive compulsive disorder, hoarding, skin picking, panic disorder, social anxiety disorder, phobias, and generalized anxiety disorder. Renee graduated from Montana Tech in 1995 with an associate of science.
Michelle Slyder of CHS Inc. Refinery has been nominated to fill the oil and gas industry position on the State Emergency Response Commission. Michelle received her bachelor of science degree in Environmental Engineering in 1996 from Montana Tech. She then accepted a position with U.S. Gypsum Co. and advanced to Corporation Construction Engineer and Field Installation Manager. She is currently the CHS Inc. DOT compliance coordinator, Laurel Energy Division, is a founding member of the Montana Liquid & Gas Pipeline Association, and is that group's current treasurer. Michelle is serving her second term as the Vice President of the Montana Utility Coordinating Council.1997
Savana Winters and Thad Pederson were married August 5, 2011 in Great Falls, with Kathleen Jensen officiating. She is the daughter of Clint and Lisa Winters of Great Falls. He is the son of Stella Pederson and the late Daniel Pederson. Candace Winters was maid of honor and Justice Hagen was flower girl. Kyle Pederson was best man and Cruze Hagen was ring-bearer. The bride graduated from Dahl's College of Beauty and Manicuring and is a self-employed cosmetologist. The groom received a bachelor of science degree in Engineering Science from Montana Tech in 1997 and is employed by Sletten Construction.1998
Erin (Duffy) and Scott Finley along with their 23-month old son Logan of Aurora, IL, welcomed twin girls to their family on February 3, 2012. Else Debra weighed 6 lbs., 7 oz., and was 19 inches in length. Kayla D'Ann weighed in at 5 lbs., 8 oz., and was 18¼ inches. Erin graduated from Montana Tech in 1998 with a bachelor of science degree in Environmental Engineering and works for USG Corporation. Scott also graduated from Montana Tech. In 2000 he earned a bachelor of science degree in General Engineering and currently works for Siemens Corp.1999
Hana (Baker) and Mike Ciembronowicz of Frederick, CO welcomed twins Oliver Merrill and Elsa Antoinett on March 22, 2012. Oliver weighed 7 lbs., 2 oz., and was 20¼ inches in length. Elsa weighed in at 5 lbs., 14 oz., and was 18¾ inches in length. Hana graduated from Montana Tech in 1999 with a bachelor of science degree in Geophysical Engineering.
Tim Dilworth, a former executive of Coldwater Creek, has been hired by Overstock.com, Inc. as the company's Senior Vice President of Marketing. He will be responsible for defining and driving all marketing activities across the Overstock.com organization. Tim worked for Coldwater Creek since 2000 in various positions within the company's marketing group and last held the position of Coldwater Creek's Senior Vice President of Marketing. Previously, he had served as Vice President of Marketing and Ecommerce and held other positions at Coldwater Creek in marketing analytics. Tim graduated from Montana Tech in 1999 with a bachelor of science degree in Business & Information Technology. He went on to earn a master's degree in Business Administration from the University of Idaho.2000
Andy Eliason has joined the ownership group of Allwest Testing and Engineering, which has offices in Hayden, Post Falls, Lewiston, and Spokane Valley. The company has been providing environmental consulting, geotechnical engineering, and construction materials testing throughout the Inland Northwest since 1999. Andy graduated from Montana Tech in 2000 with bachelor of science degrees in both Welding and Mining Engineering. He has geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing experience in Denver and Spokane Valley, where he is the office manager.
Melissa Collins has joined the Helena office of HydroSolutions, Inc. Melissa has 5 years of consulting experience as a hydrogeologist in the environmental consulting industry. She has worked as a hydrogeologist for consulting firms in Montana, Florida, and Colorado. Additionally, Melissa worked as a researcher in Grand Canyon National Park, investigating the impacts of historical uranium mining on the canyon springs while completing coursework toward a Ph.D. in Hydrogeochemistry at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Melissa received a bachelor's degree in Earth Science from Montana State University in 1997 and a master's degree in Geological Engineering from Montana Tech in 2000.
Julie Pederson Seedhouse received a master's degree in Public Relations from MSU-Billings. She is a 2000 graduate of Montana Tech with a master's degree in Technical Communications. Julie currently works as the Director of Alumni Relations at MSU-Billings.
On February 20, 2011, Isabelle Grace Wilson was born to proud parents Theron and Sara Wilson of Butte. She weighed 6 lbs., 12 oz. and was 19½ inches in length. Theron graduated with an associate's degree in Network Technology in 2000 and again in 2004 with double majors, one in Information Technology and Design and the other in Mathematical Sciences.
