Grant Proposal Writing Workshop Offered


A grant proposal writing workshop will be offered on campus on January 10 and 11, 2013 from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm in the Student Union Building. The workshop instructor is Janet Cornish.

As competition for funding has become more brisk, good proposal writing skills are critical for managers in both the public and private sectors. This two-day seminar will provide participants with key strategies to help them put their best foot forward on paper, while "demystifying" the grants process. Topics will include the following: Assessing Need and Setting Priorities, Identifying Projects and Reviewing Solutions, Identifying Grant Sources and Associated Requirements, Using the Internet in the Writing Process, Preparing Strong Proposals, Preparing Budgets, Managing Successful Programs and Evaluating Projects and Programs

Fee: This seminar is made possible through generous support of the office of the Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs Participants pay only $80.00 for the class and materials. Lunch is included both days.

The workshop is subject to cancellation if enrollment is less than 10.

The course is open to to graduate and undergraduate students as well as to members of the community.

About the Instructor: Janet has been presenting proposal writing seminars for more than twenty years. She is an independent community development consultant and has been on the adjunct faculty at Montana Tech since 1991.
