Wireless Setup:

WINDOWS 8


Step 1: Open the “charms bar” by hovering your mouse in the in upper-right or lower-right corner of the “Start” screen and click or tap on “Settings.” On a device with touch, swipe from the right side of the screen to open the “charms bar.”

Step 2. On “Settings,” click or tap on “Available” to view a list of available wireless networks.

Step 3. Click or tap on the wireless network called eduroam or MTDorms and click or tap Connect. Make sure you have Connect automatically checked if you want to automatically re-connect to this network when it is in range.

Step 4.Enter your Montana Tech e-mail address (username@mtech.edu) and Password and click or tap OK. This is the same password used for MyMTech and the Login for E-mail.

Step 5. A security alert will appear asking if you would like to continue connecting. Click “Connect.” Note: This connection is secure and you will not be at risk. If you click Terminate then it will not allow the connection through and you will have to restart the process.

*Alternately, you can connect to a wireless network from the Windows 8 “Desktop” by clicking or tapping on the wireless network icon in the lower-right hand corner of the screen. From here, follow steps 3 – 5 above to connect to a wireless network.

Need help logging in?
